January Happenings

Well we've had a busy month. Snow and weather has been a big part of our month. Jacob has had wrestling every Saturday and so far the weather has cooperated so Jeff has gotten to go. Jacob has done pretty good, he has wrestled at 119 and 125 lbs. Will finish out at 119. Last weekend he pinned all three of the kids he wrestled and was conference champ. His team is down to 6 guys but they have done a really good job. At one tournament there were 13 teams and South Harrison took 8th. At Conference in addition to Jacob, Zach Wilson got 2nd, and Garrett Lowe and Matt Meisin both brought home 4th place medals. We have enjoyed cheering these boys on this year and hope to finish strong at districts the second week of February. The following weekend will be state. It would be great to see our boys there.
Adam has qualified for the Spelling Bee in his class. He will represent his class along with Harleigh at the county Spelling Bee in February. He has started wrestling practice this week. His first meet is February 21.
Abbie and Ruby are doing great. Or we think they are great! Amazing how fast they grow and all they do. Abbie is up to everything and walking around it. Ruby is independently walking up a storm. Both of them like books, dolls and talk alot. (probably take that after their grpa!) Dustin graduates from the Police Academy March 7 in Hutchinson, KS. Tyler will be home around the first part of March also.
Jeff has been very busy at work this winter with all of this snow. We are all tired of it, just like everyone else. If I could stay home and enjoy it out my window I wouldn't mind it. I just don't like to be out in the cold. One morning I was up before the sun and as the sun came up on the sunshine it was so pretty. God does paint beautiful pictures. It reminded me of the purity of the Lord, then within a short amount of time we muddy it all up. Kinda like sin, we look all dirty and the Lord can come in and just make us that beautiful white as the snow. So I have been trying to think of this winter in that way. Somedays that is really hard when it is below zero and the wind is howling. Ha ha Spring will be a joyful time for everyone this year I expect.
Speaking of expecting..........I am going to be a great aunt again. Owan is going to be a big brother in July. We are excited. As Grandpa Virgil always said....you can never have enough babies to love.
