Happy Fall

Fall has fell.....oh at least for today. The leaves are starting to show their beautiful colors.
Jacob played football at the beginning of this year. When the JV quarterback was injured Jacob got the opportunity to be quarterback. Due to an injury to his knee, which turned out to be a bad bruise and did not require anything other than rest. He has chosen to not finish the football season as he wants to stay healthy for wrestling (sport of choice!) He is going to participate in a national wrestling tournament in Des Moines later this month. There will be kids from all over the US. School wrestling will be starting before we know it. His goal is to go to state again this year. (I am thinking I am making reservations a whole lot earlier this year!!)
Adam will be starting basketball in a couple of weeks also. He is my social one (ok they all have been but he is really social!) He goes to lots of games and seems to meet new people or visit with others from the other teams all the time. Yes alot of them are girls! He was elected to be in student council this year and helped with homecoming last weekend.
Ah yes, Homecoming, make sure you check out the slideshow for the pictures! My kids would have made pretty girls.
Tyler has started his regular schedule at the prison, he works the 3-11 shift. He seems to like it pretty well. Julie is in RN school and has started her clinicals. She does this 2 - 12 hour shifts a month. Ruby has really grown and doesn't look or act like a baby at all. She is 21 months this month.
Dustin is still working at the KS Sheriff's office as a deputy. He will change which days he has off this month. I think he and Tyler will have the same days so maybe they will be home all together some time. Mandy is substituting at school and they are still waiting to get their house sold so they can move closer to Dustin's job. Abbie is quite the talker. She is very entertaining. She is 17 months this month.
Both of the girls love baby dolls, books and cooking with all of Grammy's pots and pans all over the floor. Grandpa got them to drumming on the bottom of the pans last time they were all together. They are also really good dancers! Yes I may be biased about them both!
The girls and I went to my good friends and photographers Bret and Lisa Smith for some "Grammy and Girls" pictures a couple of weeks ago. It was lots of fun and I was wore out, I am sure that it is easier to take pictures than to pose with two 1 1/2 year olds! ha ha You can see the pictures at smithspicturethis.com, then go to online galleries, then to the drop down box and click on Kim King then enter the gallery and the password is King (case sensitive). They did a great job getting some pictures of us difficult people ha ha (the girls were very busy and grammy just isn't photogentic)
The last Sunday of Sept. the Jennings reuion was held. Even though not everyone was able to attend we had lots of good food and the fellowship was such a blessing.
The next few months are busy with birthdays. Sept was Grma Jennings, Owan, Aunt Joyce, Molly, I think that is it.
October is also a busy month. Cole and Clay will be 17 and Ken will be having a birthday, along with Grma Rinehart, Julie. Not sure if I've missed anyone or not there.
Happy Fall You all...............

Fall has fallen.......

I noticed the leaves are getting ready to turn colors. I love the beautiful colors but don not like what follows........the cold weather.
Dustin will be changing days off in Oct so not sure what days we will be seeing them after that. Abbie and Mandy come up occasionally and spend a few days with us. We are always glad to see them and Abbie has gotten to have quite a vocabulary. She can say just about anything. This was cause for lots of entertainment as the boys had her saying everything.
Tyler had to go with the guard last week to Jefferson City to learn how to use a new tent that they are getting. THen he had to go to Des Moines for his monthly guard time. Julie is going to RN school and last week did her first clinicals. Ruby comes and visits us fairly often. She always has a new trick or two. She is also very entertaining.
Jacob is playing football. Last week the quarterback got hurt so Jacob filled in. He did again last night and hurt his knee. He will have to go have it checked out. Don't want to have anything hurt when it is getting close to wrestling.
Adam is hanging out with friends. He is going to be starting basketball before we know it.
Owan celebrated his 2nd birthday a couple of weeks ago. His uncle Coy brought down his pony and cart that they had made and gave rides. Needless to say he got enough gifts to keep him busy till at least Christmas. Miss Stella has grown and is a chubby girl. Her grpa Tim says that if she keeps growing at this rate she will be 50 lbs. by the time she is one!
All the Rinehart boys are back to school (whether they want to be or not!) Travis is coaching Jr. and Hi School basketball at Ridgeway. Joe's chicken's have started laying eggs and for some reason I still haven't gotten any. I even saved him egg cartons! Might have to kidnap a chicken to get some eggs!
Josh and his family are getting settled in at their new house in KS. I think the kids will be here in a couple of weeks to visit with Grma.

Summer's almost over!

Can't believe it but the summer is almost gone. The kids start back to school this week. Where did our summer go?
Since the last post......Adam had a great time on Mission Trip and is ready to go back to school (I am sure this is for social purposes only!) He will be in the 8th grade this year. Plans to play basketball later in the year. He has grown about 4-5 inches this summer. He will be 14 in a week and told me the other day that in just a year and so many days he will be able to get his permit to drive!!!
Jacob is back to working at Hy-Vee and started football practice this past week. He enjoyed his summer of mowing and learning landscaping. He also is the proud owner of a "new" bronco. I think the price of gas will be limiting his traveling as the new bronco doesn't do so well on gas! He will be a jr. this year and has a pretty full load of hard classes.
Tyler is in training to be a guard at the prison and we are not sure of his new hours yet. Julie starts school in a couple of weeks and Ruby just continues to humor us everytime we spend time with her. We also learned the first part of this month that we are going to have a grandson in December!
Dustin and Mandy are still trying to sell their house and get moved closer to his work. They have been up and visited the last couple of weeks that Dustin had off. It always great to have them here. Abbie came home with us and spent the night one Sunday night before her folks came up on Monday. I think she had a wonderful time. I know Grammy and Gramps did.
Both girls have learned to say "cheese" when Grammy gets the camera out. And we have taken tons of pictures this summer. I've also convinced some other models to do some posing for me. My cousin Brian's daughter Kiley is my prize model and is a real natural. She is always willing to try anything and has a great smile. We even got her little brother and sister in on the action recently. Adam, Jacob and my "step-kids" or rather the neighbor kids (who we've been neighbors with for the last 11 year!) have gotten in on the action. Baby Stella has also been a willing participant, Owan has had his pictures taken even when I've had to chase him done. ha ha
Stella Nichole was born on July 21 to Samuel and Ashley. She is a beauty. Her Uncle Coy who had thought having another nephew would have been better than a neice seems to hog her holding time alot. I think Miss Stella will have him wrapped around her finger in no time at all. Probably Uncle Travis and Grpa Tim also if she is anything like our girls.
Our Church held its VBS in July. Due to some family issues our director was unable to be the director. I had prayed that God would lead me in what to do for this family that had suffered the death of a grandson. And as you all know "we can do anything through Christ" I was able to step into her shoes (needless to say they were very big shoes!) and help her out as director. She had pretty much done everything so I got to just have the fun of leading the kids in the opening and closing. We had a great bunch of adults and teens who taught, sang, danced, played and fed us. We had an average of 60 some kids everynight and it was such a blessing. (I don't have pictures, sorry) I dressed according to the theme and one night one little boy asked me why I dressed funny every night! I don't even think that was the night I was wearing the flamingo costume! At any rate it was great.
Till next time..........God Bless

Summer Times at the King's

I can't believe that July is half over. Where does the time go? We have been busy as usual. Adam has been playing basketball and has finished that up. This week he was in Eagleville to help with Bible School at the church where he started out. He will leave tomorrow to go to Springfield for Youth Mission Trip. I'm sure he'll have lots of stories to tell when he gets home in 7 days!
Jacob played baseball and ended with a rainy season. He is working for a local landscaper/lawnmowing service. He seems to really enjoy this. He also has a few yards he mows himself when he has free time.
Tyler has started working at the prison in Cameron, Julie is working at the Hospital here in town and will be starting back to school in August, working toward her RN degree. Ruby has really grown and continues to entertain us on a regular basis. She turned 18 months and is going to have a new baby brother or sister (we will find out next month) in December.
Dustin is still working in Kansas as a Deputy Sheriff for Johnson Co. Mandy is out of school and they are trying to sell their house to move closer to Dustin's work. Abbie has been up to see us several times this summer. She is lots of fun and really growing fast. She was 15 months a couple of weeks ago. Both of the girls have quite a vocabulary and we enjoy spoiling them.
I have gotten a new camera so I've been playing with it as I have time. My friend Angie Cox writes songs and is recording a CD. I was blessed to share in this by taking pictures for her cover. She has such a God given gift for her music and lots of other things in life she blesses so many with. Watch for her CD's. My favorite song is the one about the little boy at Bible School.
The first weekend in July I had the honor of taking pictures at my cousin Hank daughter's wedding. She was a beautiful bride and it was such a fun day. I think we took over 700 pictures! It was a lovely day for a wedding by the lake.
Adam, Walker and I joined the "Betty's Buddies" Relay for Life team this year. Adam won the Most Laps Walked. We spent the entire night (I'm getting to old for this!) But we had lots of fun, every hour there was games and we dressed for each. There was several ladies that cut their hair at the Relay for Locks of Love, there was also three brave little girls who gave up at least 8 inches of their hair also. I admire them all for this. All in all it was a great night and money raised went to a very good cause.
Josh and his family (Jeff's younger brother) have been here for a few weeks as they are relocatiing with his change of job. They are moving to Topeka, KS. We are really excited as this means we will see them more than just a couple of times a year. We spent 4th of July celebrating with them. Not sure who enjoyed the fireworks more the big boys or the kids!
This year is also the campaigning year for me. I am running for my 3rd term as Public Administrator. God lead me to signing up to run again and confirmed it by no one running against me. We have not had to do lots of campaigning but have went to the parades and a few other things in the county. I do appreciate all the support that I get from family and friends. Abbie and Ruby have helped to wave the royal wave during parades. They aren't much on throwing the candy they would rather eat it!
The state has changed Jeff's hours and he is working 4 - 10 hour days. So he has off on Fridays now. He has been working on our boat but we've not spent much time on the lake. Seems we are always busy doing something.
Enjoy your summer and who knows when I will get back to posting. I admire my friend Jennifer who posts "Wordless Wednedays" each week.
