VBS and Grammy's Girls

We've had a busy week. Game Day Central.......where Heroes are Made occupied all of our evenings this week. Adam attended the 5th and 6th grade class, Jacob helped with recreation the nights he got to go. (ball game on Thursday evening and practice Friday evening) I taught Youth and had 3 girls. We had a good time and I pray that they learned something that they can use in their lives at some point in the future. My girls didn't want to go to music, thought they wanted to do recreation but decided that they didn't want to do that either. Our classroom was the old bus that was used for mission trips, etc. So we spent most of our time there. I did make them go to the opening ceremonies and we of course had snacks. (just love those cookie ladies!) We did our own crafts on the bus. Our big project was making "stadium blankets". We used the fuzzy material and cut fringes and tied knots in them. I took them to the Children's Division to be given to Foster Kids when they have to leave home without anything. All in all we had a very good week. Our Mission offerings this year will be used to send school supplies to Afganastan. The kids also brought in donations of school supplies. New or used as the school close to the base where Tyler is stationed have not much of anything. The plea from the soldiers had come a few weeks ago and so we made this our mission project this year. There is a picture of the school supplies the kids brought in this week. They pretty much covered my kitchen table. We will get them shipped in the next few weeks along with a picture of our VBS kids. We pray that God will bless these kids that receive these supplies.
Now for the Grammy updates. My girls are beautiful! Imagine that!? We visited with Abbie on Tues. morning on our way home from the orthodonist. She "talked and talked" with us. I think she told Uncle Jacob we could tune the radio in really good if we hooked it up to his mouth. (he got a chain across his top braces) Didn't get to visit as long as we'd like but Jacob had to come home and go to work! Real life is like that. Tues. afternoon we went down to see Ruby. She has really grown and is doing something new everytime we see her. Today we went to the fair at Eagleville to see her win first at the baby show. I thought she was the prettiest baby there in all the age groups! yes, there are pictures of both the girls in the slide show! Next week will maybe show......Grpa Doug's 65th birthday, 4th of July and who knows where else my camera will show up! Hope you all have a Happy 4th!
