December 2007

I knew I was behind on posting but didn't realize how much till I read the last one. The girls are doing so much more now. And so much has happened.
Jacob was in the play Beauty and the Beast. He was Lafou (probably not spelled right, but he was Gafscon's little fat friend) He is now wrestling after a burn accident the first night of the play. He received 1st and 2nd degree burns from lighting a candle where there had been flash powder. He had to miss the first wrestling meet. He did win his match in Polo. Then at the Polo tourn. he won his first match and lost his second. He doesn't have another until after the holidays.
Adam has been playing basketball and ended his season a couple of weeks ago. He was on the B team and got to start several games. He really seemed to enjoy it. He is getting really tall and has changed from my little boy into a big boy.
Dustin has started his training at the police academy in KS. When he finishes his classes he will be a deputy for the Johnson Co. Sherrif's Depart. We went to Olathe and Dustin asked his Dad to do the honor of pinning him as he was sworn in. It was a very nice ceremony. Mandy is still in the teaching mode and is probably looking forward to her Christmas break.
Tyler has still been serving in Afganastan. He is currently home (see more details in Grpa's Memorial) While he has been home Ruby has become attached to her daddy and has spent alot of time with him. He will have to go back this Sat. (the 15th) But his time out of country will be shorter when he gets back. He will finish his tour of duty in March. Julie is working at the Cameron Hospital.
Now for the good part...........Ruby and Abbie.
They just provide us with hours of entertainment. Ruby is walking around everything and will take several steps, she just hasn't gotten quite brave enough to take off by herself, at least not for more than a few steps. She is doing new things every day. Tonight we practiced saying what Santa says......HO, HO, HO. She was 11 months old on the 9th.
Abbie is crawling around all over and pulling up to everything. She was 8 months old on the 6th. She is so funny. Her mommy says when they walk into the living room where the Christmas tree is she just chuckles, like who put up that tree? She is the kind of baby you just want to pick up and squeeze.
Jeff has been working lots of hours lately due to the "winter" weather. Ice pictures will show up here at some point.
