Well the most recent King family happens are as follows:
We went on vacation the Jacob played in the National Softball Tournament in Mankato, MN. Ok so it wasn't my ideal vacation spot. But hey I got to stay in a hotel, didn't have to cook, clean house or go to the office. Vacation is good! Thursday and Friday of that week was good (or so I thought) as the weather was hot and sunny. Saturday dawned dark and dreary with LOTS of rain. The morning ball game was postponed till mid afternoon and the second game wasn't until 9:30 pm. They lost all of their games but I think Jacob enjoyed the playing. We also did a little shopping, sightseeing, bowling and just messing around. We were about an hour from where the bridge had collapsed in Minneapolis. We thought about going up to look at it but didn't really have time. Came back home to hot weather (yes, I liked it also)
Jeff and I came back to lots of busy stuff at work and the boys have just pretty much hung out since getting home. Jacob is getting excited..........after 3 years he is getting his braces off this week. (or at least we hope he is!) The boys start school on the 22nd. Doesn't seem like we've had much summer yet and here it is time to go back to school.
The granddaughters are growing so much. You know they say it is different when you have grandkids and I hadn't figured there would be much different. WOW it is different. The little ladies bring so much joy. We pretty much sit around and watch them when they are here. Ruby just turned 7 months old this past week and has completely mastered sitting up, has really good hand/eye coordination. She sees something, picks it up and puts it in her mouth. She can roll all over the floor to get where she wants to go. She will be crawling before we know it. She is so funny. Abbie turned 4 months this week. She has lots of new tricks also. She can do sit ups if you hold her hands. She laughs alot and is rolling over also, she has a very deep voice. Both the girls are quite the conversationalists and I am sure when they are a little bigger they will have some wonderful "discussions". They were both here today and we took some pictures of them. Owan stopped by to visit for awhile also. He has really grown and got another haircut the other day. (his 5th and he is 11 months old) He is taking his parents and grandparents and uncles to the zoo this week. Watch for the one year old pictures later in September.
Tyler will be leaving Afganastan September 3 to come home for his R&R time. We are all so excited to see him but also to see what he and Ruby think of each other. He hasn't seen her other than in pictures since Feb. Wow has she changed. Josh and Jessie and family (Jeff's little brother) will be here the last week in August so we will be spoiling a few more kids (and probably taking pictures) So watch for them later in September also.
